Meet Rebecca, the mum behind Olsten

Olsten began in the quiet of 2020, born from a simple desire to create something beautiful, sustainable, and truly high-quality. Like many candle lovers, I often found myself disappointed by lackluster scents or questionable eco-credentials. I knew there was a better way—one that treated our planet with as much care as our homes.

Every Olsten candle is hand-poured using responsibly sourced, eco-friendly soy wax, and wrapped in packaging that is 100% recycled and recyclable. Beyond the glow of our candles, we’ve also introduced a heartfelt range of ceramics, lovingly handmade by my own Auntie Pam. From her delicate coasters to her earthy outdoor pots, each piece carries that special touch only family can provide.

As a busy mum of three, Olsten is so much more than a business; it’s my creative escape and my passion project. The name itself is a tribute to my two boys, Oliver and Osten. We’ve since welcomed baby Heidi to the family, so I’m currently brainstorming how to weave her into our story! Every single item is crafted in small batches within our home studio in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, ensuring that when an Olsten product reaches your hands, it’s nothing short of perfect.
